When you get to a casino or other gambling establishment, you’ll notice that everyone there is wearing different attire. For instance, at a casino you may wear slacks and a dress shirt. At a hotel you may wear a business suit, and at a bar you may wear jeans. So why do people wear what they wear?
It’s really not necessary for the casino behaviour rules to be different for each area. Everyone there is wearing clothes with specific themes. If you were to stop someone at a casino and ask them their attire, most people would have no idea what you’re talking about. In fact, most people who are wearing what they’re wearing simply assume that you’re talking about the theme of the clothing that’s being worn.
So how does polite casino etiquette to help you look your best? In order to be dressed properly for a casino, you should wear a well-tailored suit and have it matched by an appropriate tie. You’ll also want to have a tie bar in your clothing that allows you to easily remove it, if necessary. You’ll also want to wear shoes that are of a comfortable height, and preferably not flat soled.
If you’re at a hotel, your dress code will be different. At a hotel, you may only wear slacks and a t-shirt, which should be a complement to your dress. Dresses are also allowed in some casinos, but not in all. Again, follow the dress code of the establishment you’re in.
When you’re at a bar, you can expect a more lax dress code than you would at a casino. Dress is usually casual, and dresses and skirts are the norm. Unless you’re at a sports bar, expect to wear shorts and a tee shirt.
Etiquette is different for all forms of gambling. No matter where you are, or what you’re doing, be courteous to everyone around you. Most casinos and hotels to make sure that all of their guests behave themselves, but when you’re at a bar, you’re just expected to be polite.
Etiquette is just as important for you when you’re out on the road. At a casino, you are in an environment where people come to drink and gamble. When you are drinking with your friends, and someone asks you where you are from, you’ll want to give them a quick rundown of your hometown.
If you’re wearing a shirt that says “born and raised,” don’t answer the question in such a way that people think you’re trying to pass yourself off as some “gambling tourist.” It’s important to ensure that your image and personality match your dress code and dress style.
